614 meetings booked by inbound agent

Jason Lemkin writes that SaaStr's old sponsor contact form fed a queue, then a round-robin to a salesperson, taking 2 to 3 days on a good week. An audit after one event found about 1,000 sponsor leads who never got a human follow-up at all. The inbound agent, Amelia AI, now answers questions on the form, qualifies the visitor, routes by past close rates instead of round-robin, and books the meeting. It re-reads the site daily and follows up sponsor pages that were left unfinished.

How it wentIn one event cycle the agent booked 614 qualified meetings and sourced over $1M in closed-won revenue directly. In one month, 71% of closed-won sponsorship deals came from agent-qualified inbound leads, against a historic inbound share of 29 to 34%. Lemkin warns that an agent answering from stale data is worse than no agent: it answers with confidence and gets it wrong. SaaStr is a larger B2B brand, so the scale is not typical for a small firm.
