€600 contractor invoice, stopped cold

Lazar Milicevic runs an invoicing product called Fakturko. It has real customers. Each feature request used to go to a contractor. The contractor charged €50 an hour. A quote took three days. The work took about a week. He now opens Claude Code in the project folder. He gives the task in plain English. He reviews the plan and each line of change. He merges only what passes. Last month he shipped four of five requests himself. One still went to the contractor. His old spend was about €2,500 a month on such work.

How it wentThe named feature adds VAT totals per customer per quarter. It took about 90 minutes with review. The contractor quote was 12 hours and €600. His sweet spot is tasks in the €400 to €600 range. Lead time fell from seven to ten days to one to two hours. He did not fire the contractor. Requests to the contractor fell from five a month to one.
