Duplicate invoice flagged before Friday pay

A builder made an invoice assistant for his partner's business. In that business, an accountant pays contractors and suppliers every Friday. The assistant reads vendor invoices that arrive by email. The files come in many formats. It pulls out the vendor, the property, and the amount. It renames each file in the accountant's own pattern. It tracks what it has processed. It checks each new invoice against the old ones.

How it wentThe assistant flagged a contractor invoice that was sent twice. It did not process the copy again. Use so far is light, and the builder gives no time figure. His report, from his article.
Try it · based on the source's workflow
Prepare the Friday payment run for [business name]. Read new vendor invoices from [inbox], extract vendor, property, and amount, and rename each file as [naming convention]. Check for duplicates against invoices already processed. List every invoice ready for approval and every one you flagged. Do not authorise or make any payment.
A starting template based on the workflow the source describes. Review it before you use it; you are responsible for what it does.
