Nine conversations in a whole month
A consultant compares two shops in the same quarter. A two-chair barbershop paid setup plus a monthly fee for a chatbot. In its first month the bot handled nine conversations, and six of them were a version of: are you open today. The owner could have answered all nine from his chair. A remodeling company in the same period fielded about 340 inquiries a month. Two staff answered the same twelve questions again and again, and inquiries still sat unanswered overnight.
How it wentThe barbershop result was negative: 9 conversations in a month, most of them trivial. For the remodeling company the post gives no resolution figure. The author's rule: under about 20 to 30 real questions a month, saved replies beat a bot, and a facts file nobody maintains will state wrong hours and prices with confidence.

Count before you build. Look at my messages on [channels] for the last [30] days. List every customer question, group repeats together, and count each group. Mark which ones a saved reply could answer and which ones need a person. Give me the totals: real questions per month, the top 10 repeats, and how many sat unanswered overnight. Do not contact any customer. I will use your count to decide if a chatbot is worth it.
